48 Cemetery Ave. Menands, NY 12204
Albany Diocesan Cemeteries offers a wide range of options for the final disposition of cremated remains: cremation gardens and columbariums, as well as regular graves and mausoleums. However, often families just don’t know what to do when the urn containing the cremated remains is returned by the funeral director.
Albany Diocesan Cemeteries provides this service to assure that the proper care and reverential disposition of cremated remains is available to all Catholics.
Historic St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands, NY will provide this service for Catholic families who have cremated remains they wish to entomb. Memorial butterflies are available to be installed near the crypt.
“The cremated remains of a body should be treated with the same respect given to the human body from which they come. This includes the use of a worthy vessel to contain the ashes, the manner in which they are carried, the care and attention to the appropriate placement and transport, and the final disposition. The cremated remains should be buried in a grave or entombed in a mausoleum or columbarium. The practice of scattering cremated remains on the sea, from the air, or on the ground, or keeping cremated remains in the home of a relative or friend of the deceased are not the reverent disposition the Church requires.” – Order of Christian Funerals
If you have the cremated remains of a loved one that you would like to entomb, please contact us at (518) 463-0134 or [email protected].
We encourage family, friends, and others who wish to pay their respects to join us for the All Souls Committal Mass Service.
