Ann C. Ferris, 86 of Latham, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at Wesley Health Care Center in Saratoga Springs. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Mary (Pasinella) Pisaniello. Ann was educated in Troy schools and graduated from Troy High. Ann spent her life as a homemaker, caring for her children and raising her family. She also spent time working at Bradlee's Department Store in Latham and later in life as a home health aide. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and crafting as well as dancing, especially the Jitter Bug, and singing. In her early years she would sing on the Teenage Barn. Ann had a deep love for all animals especially frogs, squirrels, and birds. She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Columbiettes. Ann loved to help people, a true giver at heart. Her door and her heart were always open to her children and their friends who affectionately referred to her as "Ma Ferris." She will be forever missed and eternally cherished by all who knew and loved her. Ann is survived by her six children: Deborah (Bill) Bennett, Danny (Maureen Shanahan) Ferris, David (Donna) Ferris, George (Geraldine) Ferris, Donna (Mike) Venturiello, and Frank (Dorrae) Ferris. She is also survived by her fifteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Ann was predeceased by her former husband, George Gene Ferris; her grandson, Daniel S. Ferris; her nine siblings; as well as her beloved canine companion "Teddy." Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Saturday, April 9, from 9 to 11 a.m. at St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Rd., Latham. The Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11 a.m. with Reverend Brian Kelly officiating. Interment to take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to either the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave, Menands, NY, 12204 or at https://mohawkhumane.org/donate or to the Capital City Rescue Mission, P.O. Box 1999, Albany, NY, 12201 or at https://give.capitalcityrescuemission.org/give. Arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home.
