    February 6, 1936 - February 18, 2022

    Anne Bonacker Reilly, age 86, died Friday, February 18, 2022 at Van Rensselaer Manor Nursing Home. Born February 6, 1936, Anne was the daughter of the late Frederick A. and Magdalen K. Scheibly Bonacker. Anne was a lifelong resident of Rensselaer NY and was a graduate of St.John’s Academy in Rensselaer. She worked for the Bell Telephone Co. as a telephone operator and as a clerk for the Joy Department Store and the Veterans Hospital, and retired in 2001 from Blue Cross. Anne was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Paul J. Reilly, in 2018. Survivors include eight children, Susan Reilly of Rensselaer, Mary Reilly of Rensselaer, Michael (Nadine) Reilly of Schodack, Carol (Ronald) Hayden of Niskayuna, William (Marleen) Reilly of Hermosa, SD, Jeanne (John) Waterbury of Poestenkill, Timothy (Linda) Reilly of Schenectady, and Colleen (Kevin) Maher of Cambridge; eleven grandchildren, Christopher and Lisa Reilly, Jason Bristol, Samantha and Kelli Hayden, Jessica Kelley, John, Jennifer, and Justin Waterbury, Kevin and Lauren Reilly, and two step-grandchildren, Abby and Tully Maher; seven great-grandchildren, Kylee, Jason Jr., and Laura Bristol; Jack, McKenna, and James Kelley; and Madilynn Frederick, as well as many nieces and nephews. Anne was also predeceased by her sisters, Kate (Edmund) Duncan, Therese Bonacker, and Ruth Bonacker and by a grandson, Eric Lloyd Hayden. Anne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend to all. She always saw the best in everyone and never had an unkind word for anyone. Anne’s family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff at Van Rensselaer Manor as well as The Community Hospice for their loving care of Anne. Funeral mass will be offered in the Church of St. Mary’s at Clinton Heights, Columbia Turnpike, Rensselaer, Thursday at 9:30AM. All are welcome to attend. Relatives and friends are invited and may call to the W.J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer Wednesday from 4-7PM. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush. Those who wish may make a donation to your favorite library, The Community Hospice, 445 New Karner Road, Albany NY 12205; or the Regional Food Bank, 965 Albany Shaker Road, Latham, NY 12110.
