Anthony C. Losi

Anthony C. Losi, 91, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2022, at home, surrounded by his loving family. A proud native of Albany's South End, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Losi. He was a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy where he was captain of the 1949 football team. Tony was in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and served in the First Cavalry. He worked as a printer at the Times Union and retired from Shaker High School. He continued working well into his 80's and especially enjoyed meeting customers at Price Chopper. Tony was active in Albany politics and was committeeman of the 14th Ward. He also ran for Alderman and was instrumental in establishing the leash law and handicap accessible sidewalks in the city. Tony is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Marie "Queenie" Nardolillo Losi; children, Joseph (Gretchen), John (Enza), and Jill Losi; grandchildren, Nikita and Antonina Losi and their mother, Natalia; and his cousin, Charlie Mirabile and his family. The Losi family wish to thank Hospice nurses, Erin and Cathy and to Ivey, Maria and Sonya for their care and compassion. Funeral services will be held privately.
