Daniel S. Ranalli, 103 years young, entered Eternal Life Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Kingsway Arms Nursing Center surrounded by his loving family. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Giacomo and Donata Cipriani Ranalli. Daniel graduated from Roesellville High School and went on to serve his Country in the US Army during WW II in the European Theater with the combat engineers. He was a patriot, and proud to be a member of America’s Greatest Generation. He worked for the NY Central RailRoad after the war and went on to a longtime career with the Albany Public Market. Dan loved baseball, especially the NY Yankees. He an accompolished Clairnet musician and played in the LoPresti Band, the Yankee Doodle Band, and the Colonie Senior Citizens Orchestra. The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the D-Unit at Kingsway for all the care and kindness offered to Dan duing his stay there. Daniel was the husband of the late Angela Maiello Ranalli; beloved father of Daniel J. Ranalli (Eileen), Ronald P. Ranalli (Mary Rose) and Donna Rapp (Bruce); cherished grandfather of Tiffany, Keith, Nicholas, Carrie, Christopher, Caitlin, Sarah, Aaron and Brian; brother of the late Sebastian Ranalli, John Ranalli, Joseph Ranalli, Anthony Ranalli, and Frank Ranalli; 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews survive. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Daniel’s family Saturday, January 15, 2022 8:00 am to 9:00 am at the Lasak & Gigliotti Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany, NY12206. Please only enter the funeral home from the rear parking lot entrance. Masks are required for everyone. His Funeral Mass will follow at 9:30 am Christ Our Light Catholic Church, Loudonville, NY. Masks are required for everyone. The Rite of Committal will be held at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery immediately following the Funeral Mass.
