E. Michael DiFabio Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

E. Michael DiFabio, 95, died peacefully at his home with his wife and family by his side on Wednesday, June 29, 2022. Born and raised in Green Island, and long-time resident of Loudonville, he was the son of the late Erminio and Vincenza DiFabio. He proudly served his country in World War II in the United States Army Air Force. He was a graduate of Siena College and Albany Law School. He was a practicing lawyer and certified public accountant who founded his own law and accounting firms in Albany. There, he built a practice that served both local and international clients. He was a devout Catholic and committed communicant of St. Pius X Parish, and a member and Knight of the Order of Malta. For his entire life, he demonstrated his exceptional work ethic and commitment to education and learning. He served on the boards of Siena College, Maria College, St. Gregory's School and Albany Academy for Girls. He was a leader, a bellwether and entrepreneur. He was deeply valued as a wise and trusted counselor by his clients, colleagues, family and friends throughout his life. He had a love of music and was an accomplished musician. He played the saxophone and clarinet in a local area dance band in his early years and later in the band for the U.S. Army Air Force during his service in the South Pacific. He cared deeply for both his family and his close friends; he believed firmly that "a faithful friend is a sturdy shelter; he who finds one finds a treasure." He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Janet DiFabio; four children, Michael (Carol) DiFabio, Laura (Jeffrey) Benson, Andrea DiFabio (John Ansteth) and Kara (Scott) Marsden; seven grandchildren, Katherine (Joshua) Powers, Julia DiFabio, Michael DiFabio, Thomas Benson, Emily Benson, Katharine Ansteth and Emma Ansteth; and great-grandson, Bennett Powers. His family is grateful for the excellent care he received from Community Hospice and all of his exceptional caregivers. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Michael's funeral Mass on Friday, July 1, in St. Pius X Church, Loudonville at 12:30 p.m. The Mass may be viewed at stpiusxloudonville.org/new-live-videos.
