    Elizabeth A. DelTorto

    January 21, 1925 - February 20, 2022

Elizabeth A. (Pascale) DelTorto passed peacefully from this life on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at the age of 97. Born in Watervliet on January 21, 1925, Elizabeth was the daughter of the late Luca and Mary (Pascarella) Pascale. She was raised and educated in Watervliet schools and moved to her home on Boght Road in the 1960’s. Elizabeth was employed by General Electric’s Silicones Division in Waterford for twenty years and later by the North Colonie Central School District at Blue Creek Elementary School and Shaker High School as a cafeteria worker. Elizabeth retired at the age of 90 following twenty years of service. Liz, as she was known to many, loved her home and the times spent there with family and friends. She especially enjoyed cooking and having her family gather for Sunday dinners. She was a communicant of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Watervliet and currently was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Latham. Elizabeth was married to Thomas F. Murphy and later to Thomas F. DelTorto, both of whom pre-deceased her. She was a dedicated and loving wife and mother having raised two children; her son, Daniel P. DelTorto who died in 2018 and her daughter, Elizabeth A. DelTorto who died in 2019. Her grandchildren, Maribeth Wallace (Dr. Michael) and Thomas J. DelTorto, filled her heart with pride and she loved being great-grandmother to Brandon, Ryan and Dylan Wallace. Her daughter-in-law, Deborah M. DelTorto survives as well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Liz was the loving sister of the late Anthony, Ralph and Vincent Pascale and Vincenza Testo. A funeral Mass for Elizabeth will be celebrated in Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Latham by the Reverend Geoffrey Burke, pastor, on Monday, February 28, 2022 at 10 am. Interment will immediately follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Watervliet. Friends are invited to attend. There will be no public visiting hours.
