    Evelyn B. Crowley

    July 30, 1924 - March 31, 2022

    Evelyn B. Lambuth Crowley, 97, of Saratoga Springs, passed away peacefully on Thursday March 31, 2022 at the Home of the Good Shepherd, Saratoga Springs, where she had been a resident. Born in Brooklyn, NY on July 30, 1924, she was the daughter of the late William and Florence Quick Lambuth. Evelyn began her working career at NY Telephone Co. in the accounting department. On December 2, 1950, Evelyn married John Crowley and they made their home in Baldwin, Long Island. She and her family moved to the Glenville area in 1954. Evelyn was a professional bowler, competing in four National All-Star events, finishing 15th in San Bernardino, Calif., in 1960. She won a number of state championships and individual average titles, was named Schenectady Athlete of the Year in 1960 by the Mont Pleasant Athletic Club, and was the first area woman to join the Ladies Professional Bowlers Tour. She was also inducted into the Schenectady Women’s Bowling Association Hall of Fame. In addition to her many talents, Evelyn enjoyed golf and was a long time member of Pinehaven Country Club. In addition to her parents, Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, John Crowley; and her two siblings, William and Doris Lambuth. Survivors include her daughter, Susan (Thomas) Crowley Guzzo of Baldwinsville, NY; her four grandchildren, Amanda (Virgil) Pogue, Matthew (Lisa) Guzzo, Alicia (Sam) Tallarino and Rebecca (Brian) Burns; her 3 great grandchildren, Tucker and Cooper Pogue and Georgia Guzzo; her longtime companion, Joseph Comiskey of Saratoga Springs, and her cousin, Jean Pfundstein. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 10 until 11am followed by a memorial service at 11am at The White Funeral Home, 264 N. Ballston Ave., Scotia. Inurnment will be held at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Glenville.
