Irma T. Rapp

Irma T. Rapp, 84, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at Evergreen Commons in East Greenbush following a short illness. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of Dominick and Theresa Attili. She was a 1957 graduate of Cathedral Academy. For over 45 years, Irma worked for N.Y. Telephone Company and its successors, retiring from Verizon in 2001 and also worked for over 29 years for Albany Medical Center, retiring in 2016. She enjoyed bowling, singing, and the casinos. She will be remembered as someone who had a "heart of gold." Her friends, there are many, will attest to her loyalty and sweetness. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her surrogate parents, Dominic and Irma Liuzzi; brother, Michael T. Atilli; and sister, Clara A. Van Deusen. She leaves a daughter, Theresa (Howard) Silverman of Colonie; a son, Scott Rapp of Halfmoon; three grandchildren, Justin Silverman, Eric Silverman, and Dominic Michael Rapp; a sister, Helen A. (Andrew) Novak; her longtime companion, Randy Cross as well as several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 11, at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Avenue, Colonie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, April 12, in The Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Ave., Albany. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery in Glenmont.
