Joan P. Richardson

March 22, 1933 - May 26, 2022

Joan Richardson, 89 of Guilderland, died peacefully in her sleep on May 26, 2022, at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center (O.L.M.L.C.). Born on March 22, 1933, in Albany, she was predeceased by her husband, Charles Richardson; and her daughter, Tammy Collins. A loving mother and homemaker, Joan enjoyed playing cards and bingo with her family and friends. She would befriend all the new residents to help them feel comfortable in their new living environment. She loved to go shopping for clothes and jewelry which oftentimes included ice cream for lunch! She would spend hours taking care of her plants, playing computer games, and crafting. Every morning she would have to put on her makeup and jewelry, even when she had no special plans for the day - look good - feel good. Survivors include three children, Cheryl (David) Hayes of Ballston Spa, Tom Richardson of Hickory, N.C., and Eric Richardson of Rotterdam; sister, Nancy (Tim) Fisher; brothers, Richard and James (Jennifer) Krolak; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Community Hospice and O.L.M.L.C. staff for their emotional support during her final days. Private services and burial will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022.
