    Joann Mackey

    February 25, 1942 - February 26, 2022

Joann Mackey, 80, passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at home with her loving family at her side. Joann was the daughter of the late Anthony “Tut” and Josephine (DeLorenzo) Razzano. She grew up in Watervliet and graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1959. After graduation, she started working with NYS Division of Tourism as a stenographer and over her 36 years employed there, she advanced in her career to become Supervisor and helped launch the I Love NY campaign. Joann and her husband, Tom, were active members of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church in Watervliet with Joann serving as the parish secretary for Fr. Emery Parillo, OFM. Joann had a passion and a gift for anything creative from sewing, quilting and embroidery to card and jewelry making. She was devoted to her life-long friends and touched many lives with her compassion, generosity and kind words. Joann is survived by her high school sweetheart and loving husband of 59 years, Thomas Mackey, her daughter, Patricia (William) Monast, and two beautiful grandchildren, Sophia and Giovanni. She is also survived by her brothers: John S. Razzano, Patrick (Maria) Razzano, and Robert Razzano; her sister-in-law Margaret (James) Suriano; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may join Joann’s family on Friday from 4 pm until 7 pm at Parker Brothers Memorial Funeral Home, 2013 Broadway in Watervliet. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 am in The Shrine Church of St. Anthony of Padua in Troy. The Rite of Committal and interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Troy. In lieu of flowers, contributions to The Shrine Church of St. Anthony of Padua, 28 State Street, Troy, NY 12180 would be greatly appreciated.
