    Joseph J. Pastore

    July 25, 1936 - February 17, 2022

    Joseph J. Pastore, 85, entered Eternal Life Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Samaritan Hospital. Born in Troy, he was the son of Joseph and Anna Milanese Pastore. Joseph was a US Army Veteran. He graduated from both Watervliet High School and Hudson Valley Technical Institute. Joe was an honored employee for over 36 years at NYNEX. In 1980 he was proud to have worked at the Lake Placid Olympics for NYNEX. Joseph was a longtime member of the Watervliet Elks. Baseball was one of Joe’s lifelong passions. He was an avid New York Yankees fan and coached South Colonie Babe Ruth teams for many years. Joseph enjoyed fishing, traveling-especially Cape Cod, and interior design. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, laughter, creativity and style. He was the beloved and cherished husband of Mary Ann Della Rocca Pastore; brother of John Pastore (Janis) and the late Judith Sirtori (late John); uncle of Michael Sirtori (Karin), Christopher Sirtori (Ann Marie), Theresa Dennis (Kevin), Josette Stimac (Daniel) and Robert Sirtori (Katty); Joe was an integral part of the Della Rocca family, and he is survived by many other nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Joseph’s family Monday, February 21, 2022 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany, NY 12206. Please only enter the funeral home from the rear parking lot entrance. Unvaccinated individuals must wear a mask and practice social distancing. Funeral services Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 12:30 pm at St. Pius X Church, Loudonville, NY where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Please only enter the church from the front doorway; church ambassadors will be available to help with seating and questions; if vaccinated, please seat yourselves in main section of the Church (masks optional and no social distancing); if unvaccinated or are uncomfortable not social distancing, the two sides of Church are available where social distancing and masks will be required; and please attempt to arrive 15 minutes before. The Mass can be viewed at https://www.stpiusxloudonville.org/new-live-videos/ The Rite of Committal will be held at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery immediately following the Funeral Mass.
