April 12, 1941 - May 28, 2022
Linda Dollar, age 81, of Albany, passed away on May 28, 2022, with her family by her side. Linda was born to William and Josephine Ebel on April 12, 1941. After graduating from Vincentian Institute, “VI”, Linda married her high school sweetheart, Paul Dollar. Linda was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She did not work outside of the home, but instead dedicated her life to raising four children. For the children, Mom was always home, family dinners were a daily occurrence and a strong support system was always available. Linda loved her family more than anything and when grandchildren began filling her life, there was no greater joy for her. Trips to Nan’s house were common as there was no match for Linda’s grandmotherly love. In her spare time, Linda loved to read (Amish fiction was her favorite), sit on the deck to get her Vitamin D, and play solitaire. Twice a year she traveled to Hampton Beach, New Hampshire to enjoy shopping, seafood and the fresh ocean air. Although these trips occurred less frequently due to Covid and then health issues, she always held out hope for one more trip to the ocean. Linda is predeceased by her husband Paul, who passed away in 1991. The strength she displayed in the 30 years since his passing was admirable. Linda is survived by her four children, JoAnn Dollar, James (Yvonne) Dollar, Michael (Heather) Dollar and Melissa (Robert) Bauer. She cherished her 12 adoring grandchildren, Danielle Dollar, Rachael, Jessica, Nicole and Samantha Dollar, Emma, Ayla, Zoe and Hellen Dollar, and Robby, Alex and Kate Bauer and two great grandsons, Landon Sanderson and Khylar Pino. Linda leaves behind two brothers, William Ebel (Brenda) and Richard Ebel (Barbara), a sister-in-law Barbara (Richard) Andrews, brothers-in-law Donald (late Marilyn) Haggerty and Robert (Gail) Dollar. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister Betsy Hitchcock (Tom). Linda’s family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the doctors and nurses at St. Peter’s Hospital during her final stay. The compassion and grace offered to the family in her final hours was a tremendous comfort during this most difficult time. In lieu of flowers, please consider giving a donation to Blessed Sacrament Church. Linda regularly gave to the Blessed Sacrament School and supported various church fundraisers. Relatives and Friends are invited to visit with Linda’s family Thursday, June 2, 2022 from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm, with a Funeral Service at 12:30 pm at the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 N.
