    Lita M. Snyder

    January 30, 1933 - November 30, 2021

Lita M. Snyder, 88, the wife of the late Henry F. Snyder, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2021, surrounded by family after a brief illness. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary Ayers (Charles Hart). Lita was a graduate of St. James Grammar School and Vincentian Institute. She was the devoted mother of Melita Manilenko (Walter), Teresa Snyder-Hallman (Ted), Arthur Snyder, Bernadette Snyder Phillips (Tim), and Carolyn Reisinger (Todd); and the devoted grandmother of Marlita, Jennifer, Henry, Eric, Mark, Tina, Laura, John Henry, William, Christopher, Kacie and Ryon. She was the sister of Alicia Lawson (Eddie), and the late Clarissa Gallup (William) and Mary Swain (Robert); sister-in-law of Robert Snyder (Ruth) and the late Ella Snyder, Catherine Latham (late Alvin) and many other deceased brothers and sisters-in-law. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Lita's goal in life was to be the very best mother and grandmother that she could be and she excelled at it. Lita loved to vacation with her family on Lake George, Niagara Falls, and Cape Cod. She found great joy celebrating the holidays with her family and friends. Lita also enjoyed donating to the casinos and losing money buying lottery tickets thus earning the nickname "Lotto Lee." Lita's family wish to thank St. Peter's Hospice, St. Peter's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and the Visiting Nurses Association for their compassion and care. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family on Sunday, December 5, from 2-5 p.m. in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave., Albany. The family requests everyone in attendance to please wear a mask for all services. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 6, at 9 a.m. in The Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell St., Albany. Burial will be held privately in Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery, Glenmont. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Hospital Foundation, c/o Breast Center, 310 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY, 12208, or to the Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern New York, 4 Pine West Plaza, Suite 405, Albany, NY, 12205.
