Lola Vegezzi

Lola Basile Vegezzi, 101, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 11th at Our Lady of Mercy Center. Lola was born and educated in Schenectady. She was employed by General Electric and JM Fields before starting her 12 year career at Ellis Hospital, retiring in 1986. Lola was a lifelong communicant of St. Anthony’s Church, and an annual festa worker. She was a kind and generous woman, devoted her to family and her faith. Lola was predeceased by her husband Joseph F. Vegezzi and her brother, Elio Basile. She is survived by her loving daughter, Kathleen Monti; dear grandchildren, Maryann, David and Melony Monti; loving sisters, Florinda Basile and Elva Laurange; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Tuesday at 11 am from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street, followed by a Mass at St. Anthony’s Church at 12 noon. Interment will follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Glenville. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro on Monday from 4 to 6 pm.
