M. Katherine Legnard

M. Katherine Legnard, 94 formerly of Green Island passed away peacefully Friday May 6, 2022 at the Teresian House. Born in Green Island she was the daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy Davis Kelvington. She was a 1946 graduate of Waterford High School. Kay had been employed at the Fazioli Insurance Agency in Troy before her retirement. Prior to that she worked at Harry F. Inglis Agency in Green Island. She was a member of the Rosary Society at the former St. Joseph’s Church in Green Island. She is the widow of the late John B. Legnard and the loving mother of Catherine M. Higgitt of East Greenbush, Richard T. Legnard of Menands and Barbara A. Lefebvre of East Greenbush. She is the sister of the late Robert Kelvington and proud grandmother of John and Brendan Higgitt, Erin Plonka and Carley Collins and great grandmother of Jackson Luke and Zoe Higgitt, Jacob Plonka, Jackson and Nicholas Collins. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial mass on Tuesday at 10 am at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 119 Broad St., Waterford. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Troy.
