    Mary A. Mutryn

    August 20, 1958 - October 15, 2021

    We mournfully announce the passing of Mary Alice Mutryn, 63, of Rockville, Maryland. Mary passed away unexpectedly in her home on October 14, 2021. Mary is survived by four siblings and their spouses, William and Cynde Mutryn of McLean, VA; Margaret and Paul MacGiffert of Rexford, NY; Thomas and Donna Mutryn of Potomac, MD; and Andrea and Michael Del Vecchio of Niskayuna, NY. She is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews and 10 great nieces and nephews. Mary was born August 20th, 1958, in Niskayuna, NY. She was the fourth child of the late William J. Mutryn and Alice J. Sawicki. Mary graduated from Linton High School in 1976. After graduation, she pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel Restaurant and Travel Administration graduating from University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1982. Mary worked in various management positions in the food service industry. For the past 23 years Mary was employed by Entegra/Marriott Sodexo, most recently as a Senior Manager in Program Implementation. Mary's everyday pleasures included enjoying her morning coffee, taking long walks, reading, watching non-mainstream TV, shopping trips, and connecting with family and friends. She also enjoyed listening to a variety of music, especially the Grateful Dead. Lifelong passions included traveling to far and exotic places, mountain hiking, visiting Cape Cod, and savoring lobster. She had a unique flare for design and aesthetics. Her beloved cat, Lily, was the joy of her life. Family and friends were central in Mary's life. She was always there to give unconditional love and support. Mary was kind, generous, empathetic, and fun. Her grace and presence will be missed by all who came to know her. Services will be held on Saturday, October 23rd at 12:30 p.m. at Pumphrey's Funeral Home. 300 W. Montgomery Avenue, Rockville, MD 20850 Reception to follow. There will be an internment of Mary's ashes at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery alongside her parents in Niskayuna, NY at a later date.
