    Nancy L. Purott

    November 13, 1958 - February 22, 2022

Nancy L. Purrott, age 63 of Troy, passed away on February 22, 2022. She is the daughter of the late Esther and James Purrott. Nancy was predeceased by her beloved siblings sister, Linda Purrott and brother, Raymond Purrott and namesake niece, Nancy. Nancy is survived by many cousins who have consistently supported and deeply loved her throughout the years, devoted special friends Joel and Jo-Ann Vidulich, her life-long best friend Karen Fryer, her dear Godchild, Leah Avery and nephew, Sean Howie. Nancy was comforted by all those who visited her and especially appreciated receiving communion each Sunday from Norine Batting. Among Nancy’s greatest gifts was her ability to share herself, true friendship and genuine kindness with those who were in need. Throughout her working career she sought jobs in Social Services at the Villa Mary Immaculate Nursing Home and then for over 25 years as Office Manager for Dr. Edward Merzig were she made a difference every day. Nancy’s compassion and love extended to and embraced our “furry-friends”. She was a life-long protector of animal rights, fervently loved to get kitty-kisses from her cherished “bundles”, Bunratty and Liam, and she felt very strongly about financially supporting animal causes. Nancy was never happier than when she was on the craggy coast of Maine. Since early childhood she travelled with family and friends many times each year to enjoy the salt -scented breezes and crashing waves of what she truly believed was “The Way Life Should Be”. Nancy was quick to laugh, enjoy the moment, proud of her Irish heritage, revered the musical attributes of “The Boss”, enjoyed the Arts- especially at the Playhouse in Oguinquit, Maine, a lover of literature, a gourmet chef who could literally recreate the delicacies featured on the cover of Bon Appetite’ and could always, always authentically praise her dear friend’s limited painting abilities. To be loved by Nancy was truly a blessing. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning 11:00 am at the Magin & Keegan Funeral Home, 891 Madison Ave., Albany, NY. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Tuesday morning after 10 am. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Nancy may make a contribution to Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Avenue, Menands, N.Y. which was very near and dear to Nancy’s heart. Interment Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
