    Nicholas " Nick" A. DiGenova

    April 25, 1954 - January 26, 2022

    Nicholas (Nick) A. DiGenova Sr., age 67, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, January 26, 2022. Born in Schenectady, NY, he was the son of the late Americo and Mary DiGenova. Nick graduated from Mont Pleasant High School in 1973, he also attended Hudson Valley Community College where he studied electrical engineering. Nick was a Journeyman electrician for IBEW for 40 years, before retiring. He was a member of Albany Rod & Gun Club, Guan Ho Ha Fish & Game Club, and St. Joseph's Athletic Club. He was also a CDYBL basketball coach and referee as well as a baseball coach at Carmen Little League. Nick was an avid fisherman, and loved all outdoor activities. In the summer months he enjoyed boating with family and friends, making homemade Italian wine and keeping a garden filled with tomatoes and other vegetables. Nick loved spending time with his family. He also loved taking care of his three dogs Diesel, Stella and Reese. Everyone who came in contact with him appreciated his stories, wisdom and philosophy of life. Survivors include his sons Nicholas (Stephanie) DiGenova Jr, Anthony DiGenova and their mother Frances D'Amico, his brother Danny DiGenova and sister Darlene DiGenova, and his grandchild Sophia Natalia DiGenova. Calling hours will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at DeLegge Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Church on 2777 Albany St. Interment will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery.
