    Richard F. George Sr.

    November 25, 1944 - May 7, 2022

    Richard F. George Sr., 77 of East Greenbush, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 7, 2022. Richard was born in Albany and was the son of the late James L. and Mary Bevlaqua George. In his younger years, Rich loved horses and would participate in many horse shows. He also enjoyed playing golf, but his biggest joy was taking his sons and grandsons hunting and fishing. He was an avid outdoorsman and spent many summers camping on Saratoga Lake. Rich was a retired mason, working at various locations throughout the Capital District. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Connie George. He was the father of Richard F. (Diane) George Jr. and Michael D. (Christine) George Sr.; loving grandfather of Anthony (Jennifer) George, Richard (Nicole) George III, Michael George Jr., Nicholas (Amanda) George and Isabella George; great-grandfather of Thomas George and Benjamin George; and brother of Mary Lovely, Suzanne Paige, Donna Brothers, Dolores (Mike) Roberts, Shelly (Bob) Hackel, John (Darlene) George and the late James George, Dennis George and Sherry Montanye. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be in the W.J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave., Rensselaer on Friday at 10 a.m. All are welcome to attend. Relatives and friends are invited and may call to the funeral home on Thursday, May 12, from 4-7 p.m. Interment will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush.
