    Richard "Dick" Brooks Lyman

    July 12, 1947 - February 1, 2022

Richard B. Lyman, a lifetime Pound Ridge resident and public servant who served as town supervisor from 2014 to 2017, died Tuesday, February 1. He is survived by his wife, Anne, sons Brooks (Laura), Christian and Sean (Dava); and grandchildren Madison, Brooks Michael and MacKenzie. Kevin Hansan, the current town supervisor, said “Dick was a dedicated public servant in the town for nearly 50 years. “In the 1970s, he worked for the maintenance department and was a part-time Pound Ridge police officer. In the 1980s and ‘90s, he was an active member and chair of the town zoning board. And in the 2000s, he was a member of the town board, highway administrator and with the Office of Emergency Management, and town supervisor. “Dick was instrumental in the transformation of the Pound Ridge Golf Course from a 9-hole course to the state of the art 18-hole gem it is today. He also helped transform the old Trinity Corners Shopping Center to the Pound Ridge Square and reenergizing Scotts Corner Market. Finally, myself and the other Town Supervisors in the area are grateful to him for creating the New Dawn Advocacy and Resource Center for Victims of Domestic Violence in Northern Westchester. Dick's energies and efforts on behalf of the Town has left a remarkable legacy for all of us.“ Lyman, who worked for the Summit Companies from 1974-2022, was a longtime member of the Pound Ridge Volunteer Fire Department, mentored Pound Ridge Boy Scouts going for their Eagle Scout badge, and was a coach in Babe Ruth League baseball. Richard Lyman is being waked at Clark Associates Funeral Home, Four Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, NY (914) 232-3033, on Thursday and Friday, February 10 and 11, from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Contributions in his memory may be made to: New Dawn Family Resource Center: P.O. Box 36, Pound Ridge, NY 10576 or online at: https://bit.ly/3L4e4nZ
