    May 15, 1927 - February 4, 2022

Rita Picerno, 94, passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord on February 4th, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Rita was born on May 15th, in Roggiano Gravina, Italy. Rita married the love of her life, Attilio, on October 11, 1958, in Cosenza, Italy. Rita & Attilio began raising their family of three in Italy until they came to the United States to live with the rest of Rita’s family in 1971. Rita was an excellent Italian cook, everything was homemade from their garden and always ready when visitors stopped by. She was the caretaker of the family. Her husband often referred to her as “The Boss”. Rita was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She brought much joy to those who knew her with her sense of humor, and kindness. All will fondly miss her. Rita is predeceased by her husband, Attilio Picerno, her parents, Giulia and Luigi Robustiano, and her siblings, Carmela Liparoti, Riccardo Robustiano, and Frank Robustiano. Left to cherish Rita’s memory are her sister Alba, her brother’s Ralph and Tony, her children Maria (David) Massaroni of Niskayuna, Joseph Picerno (Cynthia Deligiannis) of Albany, and Luigi (Debbie) Picerno of Albany; grandchildren, David Massaroni Jr., Nicholas Massaroni, Anthony Massaroni, Daniela Massaroni, Cristina Massaroni, Joseph Picerno, Marissa (Jon) Igo, Luigi Picerno, and Isabella Picerno.
