    Robert L. Peseka Sr.

    July 19, 1940 - February 17, 2022

    Robert “Bob” L. Peseka Sr., 81, passed away peacefully, Thursday, February 17, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born in Albany, the son of the late Peter Peseka and Florence (Charlebois) Cross. A retired member of the Army National Guard, Robert went onto work as a heating technician for Long Oil Heat Inc. and was later self-employed with Glenmont Fuel Inc. He continued to advise customers while working for Lowes for many years. Robert was an elected Fire Police Captain of the Selkirk Fire District and a 38-year volunteer of Selkirk Fire Company #2. He enjoyed camping, cooking, golfing and motorsports. He was also talented at winemaking and woodworking. Beloved husband of 56 years to the late Carole S. Peseka; cherished father of Peter Peseka (Connie Corbett) of Selkirk, Kimberly Reynolds (Paul Capuzzo) of MA and Robert (Ruthann) Peseka Jr. of East Durham; adored grandfather of Kevin (Jennifer) Kuebler, Jonathan (Gloriann Ocasio) Reynolds, Amanda (Gabriel) Ochoa-Diaz, Matthew (Jenna Dwyer) Peseka and Makayla (David) Jackson. Step grandfather of Kate Corbett. He is also survived by his treasured great-grandchildren, Joshua Paul, Landon Robert and Aliyah Marie, step great-grandchildren, Shannon, Erin and Sam Chateauneus, along with his feline companion, Minnie. Robert will be remembered for being a devoted friend and hard-working man. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Robert’s family on Tuesday, February 22, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. His funeral will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, South End Community, 93 Fourth Ave., Albany, NY 12202, on Wednesday, February 23, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow the service in the Calvary Cemetery in Glenmont. Those who wish may make memorial contributions in Robert’s name to St. Francis of Assisi Parish, South End Community, 93 Fourth Ave., Albany, NY 12202, or to Selkirk Fire Company #2, 301 Glenmont Road, Glenmont, NY 12077.
