    Rosemary DePasquale

    August 3, 1951 - February 5, 2022

Rosemary (Palmo) DePasquale returned to her Lord on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at home with her loving husband and son at her side after a lengthy illness. She was 70 years old. Rosemary was born in Schenectady on August 3, 1951, the daughter of the late Frank and Rose Fossella Palmo. Rosemary was educated at Hamilton Elementary, McKinley Jr. High, and Mt. Pleasant High School, class of 1969. She went on to a career at the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance until motherhood in 1979. On September 24, 1977, Rosemary wed Leonard DePasquale in Our Lady of the Angels Chapel at Siena College, Leonard’s alma mater. Their son and their pride and joy Leonard Michael-Paul DePasquale was born on January 27, 1979. Rosemary enjoyed the family’s annual summer trips to different American and Canadian Cities. An excellent cook, she delighted in preparing and hosting annual Christmas Eve dinners for the entire extended family. A lady of strong faith, Rosemary was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church her entire married life. She spent many hours volunteering as an acolyte, money counter, and an annual feasta worker. Also, she helped with projects with the Venerini Associates and the Sacred Heart League. Finally, Rosemary spent 15 years celebrating weekly Liturgies of the Word with communion for participants of the Eddy Pace program. St. Helen’s school and the Niskayuna Senior center were also benefactors of Rosemary’s help and cooking. Rosemary’s quiet and reserved demeanor masked her love and compassion for everyone. A classy lady, she always put other people’s needs and feelings above her own. Rosemary is survived by her adoring husband Leonard and her loving son Leo; her brother Frank Palmo, Jr., and his wife Victoria; nieces and nephew, Sarah Manning and her husband Sean, Melissa Palmo, Frank Palmo III; brother-in-law Vince DePasquale; and numerous cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 12 noon at St. Anthony’s Church, Seward Place. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at St. Anthony’s Church on Wednesday from 11 am until the Mass. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
