    Vincent L. Budka

    October 7, 1935 - May 18, 2022

    Vincent L. Budka, 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 18, 2022. Vince was born in Schenectady, NY on October 7, 1935, to the late Joseph and Rose (Palkovic)Budka. He grew up in Schenectady. After graduating from Nott Terrace High School in 1954, he received an apprenticeship as a printer with Schenectady Printing Company. He worked there for a few years and then went to the Schenectady Gazette as a foreman and retired after 35 years. During that time, he was chairman and then president of Local Union 167. After retiring from the gazette, he became a part-time court attendant for the Schenectady County Court House for 20 years. He was also a member of the Rotterdam Elks. He lived a simple life, loved fihing and hunting in his younger years, worked hard and enjoyed spending time with his family. Vince is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Marlene F. Budka and three children, son Vincent J.Budka(Sharon), daughter Deborah L. (Budka) Oudt (Bradley) and daughter Lori A. (Budka) Gizara (Paul). He is also survived by six grandchildren: Tara (Budka) Fitzgerald (Charles) and Vincent Budka, Matthew Oudt and Kaitlyn (Oudt) Van Dyke (Jon) and Christian Gizara and Hannah (Gizara) Robinson (Keith), great grandchildren: Kelly and Molly Fitzgerald and Amelia Van Dyke and several nieces and nephews. Vince is predeceased by his brother Robert J. Budka. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Schenectady.
