    Carol L. Capano

    August 11, 1941 - April 10, 2022

    Carol L. Capano, 80, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, April 10, 2022, with her granddaughter, Alicia and her dearest friend, Amy by her side. Carol was born on August 11, 1941, in Troy, and was the daughter of the late Frank J. and Pauline (Bradley) Dayton. She was a graduate of Catholic Central High School in Troy. She worked for New York State for many years, when she retired she was the secretary for the president of the Business Council. She enjoyed retirement where she was a member of the Sweet Adelines Chorus and the quartet known as Sunny Side Up. Carol could light up any room and be quick with a joke to make someone smile. Carol is survived by her granddaughter, Alicia M. Capano; her great-granddaughter, Brodie M. Capano; her sister, Dorienne Dayton; her stepdaughter, Catherine McCraw; and her grandchildren, Laura Capano, E.J. Dennis, and Jason Capano. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Louis E. Capano; her son, Mark C. Capano; her stepsons, Larry Capano and Louis Capano; and her siblings, Billy, Joey, Frank, and Bradley Dayton. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 14, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet from 4 to 6 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 15, at 10 a.m., in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy (use Tibbits Avenue entrance).
