    Cheryl A. Cuttler

    May 10, 1944 - March 15, 2022

Cheryl "Sherry" Cuttler of East Greenbush and Vero Beach, Fla., passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at her home in Vero Beach. Sherry was born in Albany, and grew up in Witherbee, N.Y. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Barrie; her daughter, Kimberly (David) Wick; her son, Todd (Jennifer) Cuttler; her seven grandchildren, Katie (Brian) Sitcer, Brendan and Dalia Wick, Emily, Sarah, Adam, and Molly Cuttler; her sister, Deborah (Richard) LaPier; her brother-in-law, Gary (Carol) Cuttler, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her eldest son, Scott (Leslie) Cuttler; and her parents, William and Katherine (Farrell) DeZalia. Sherry stayed home raising her children for many years until she began working for Governors M. Cuomo and Pataki in the Appointments Office. After 18 years, she accepted a position at N.Y.S. Children and Family Services, retiring in 2004. Sherry loved to bring people together, hosting friends and family for many years in her home in East Greenbush. Whenever opportunity allowed, she enjoyed traveling whether on short trips, or on highlighted vacations to the Caribbean and Europe. Always ready with her quick wit and sometimes direct honesty, she was loved by everyone around her. Challenged with advanced muscular dystrophy later in life, Sherry was a true example of how to address adversity by focusing on the positive, setting an example for all of us. Her true passion was always family, and as the heart and soul of hers she will be forever loved, and forever missed. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home Inc., 165 Columbia Tpke., Rensselaer. Interment will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to The Muscular Dystrophy Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, as both were dear to her.
