John Frederick Carella, 71 of Troy, died peacefully Thursday, April 7, 2022, while vacationing in Stewart, Fla.. John was the loving son of the late John and Rose (Tedesco) Carella. John attended Troy schools and was employed by Cluett Peabody, Jack's, Ted's and most recently, The City of Troy. John was a great athlete, an avid New York Yankee fan and a music fanatic. John was a colorful character with the biggest heart, to know him was to love him. He also had a gift of gab and could start up a conversation with anyone. John is survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly. The Jacques, Bocketti, Valenti and Tedesco families would like to thank the Ethier and Hickey families for their love and support to John over the years. One of John's favorite saying was "It Must Be Nice " A memorial service will be held on Friday morning 9:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church State Street in Troy, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Richard Donovan OFM Pastor. Family and friends are invited to attend and may call at the church on Friday morning from 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy.
