John F. Kucskar

John Francis Kucskar passed from this life on Friday, March 11, 2022 at the age of 62. Born in Troy on June 24, 1959, John was the son of the late Thomas A. and Helen C. (Carroll) Kucskar. He was a lifelong resident of Watervliet and communicant of the former St. Brigid’s Church. John was a graduate of the former St. Brigid’s School in Watervliet, Catholic Central High School Class of 1977, Hudson Valley Community College where he earned an Associate’s Degree in Business in 1979 and the College of St. Rose from where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business in 1983. He was a former employee of the Albany County Public Library. John liked to follow professional sports and was a big fan of the New York Yankees, New York Giants and Boston Celtics. He enjoyed reading and was a master of US Presidential trivia and history. Most recently, John looked forward to his daily lunches at the Watervliet Senior Center. John lived a quiet life and will be remembered for his kind heart. He is now reunited with his parents. John is survived by his brother, Thomas J. (Gaylynn) Kucskar; his sister, Carol K. Armstrong; his nephews, Thomas Trapani and Jonathan Kucskar; his nieces, Michelle (Armstrong) Mullooly and Maryssa (Kucskar) Mitsch. He is also survived by many cousins. A service for John will be celebrated by the Reverend Donald L. Rutherford on Saturday at 10:30 am in the Parker Bros Memorial, 2013 Broadway in Watervliet. Entombment will follow in the Community Mausoleum at St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands. Friends are invited to attend and may also visit with John’s family, at the funeral home, on Saturday from 9 am until 10:30 am prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to a local chapter of Meals On Wheels, Inc. in John’s memory.
