    Pearl M. Burke

    June 7, 1949 - February 12, 2022

Pearl M. Burke, 72 of Albany, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Albany Medical Center. She was the first of ten children born in Albany to the late William and Margaret Greene Buchanan. Pearl married the love of her life, Patrick J. Burke, on August 8, 1965, and celebrated 57 years of marriage. Pearl worked for over 30 years with New York State Tax & Finance. She loved her job and did not want to retire. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She asked for no attention and would rather do for others than for herself. Her spirit, compassion and love for all she held special, will be greatly missed. Pearl is the beloved wife of Patrick J. Burke. She is the mother of Patrick Jr., Tina, Tracy, Brenda (Dwayne), David and Mark Burke. Grandmother of Mark Jr., Molly, Brenden and Jayden. She is the sister of Bill (Patty), Mike, and Donnie and David Buchanan, Margie Doane, and the late Allen, Mary, Chuck and Tom. She is also survived by her aunt, Shirley Coffin; her friend and caretaker, Sue Weremeichik; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Pearl's family on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. at Historic St. Mary's Church on Capitol Hill, Lodge Street, Albany. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
