Rick "Ricky" Hathaway
June 18, 1960 - February 18, 2022
Rick "Ricky" Hathaway passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2022. Ricky was 61 years old and received day, residential and health care support and services from the Center for Disability Services since 1982. He was the son of Marjorie Stafford Laurin and brother to Dwayne Laurin. He was predeceased by his father, Merton Hathaway; and stepfather, Frederick Laurin. Rick prided himself for a hard day of work. He was employed for many years at the Center for Disability Services, Smith Center, until the time that he retired. His job provided a great sense of pride for him. He later attended the Eddy Daybreak program in Cohoes. Music, artwork, puzzles, board games and spending time with friends are among many of the things he enjoyed. Ricky always enjoyed various kinds of sports, with his favorites being bowling, volleyball and wrestling. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He has had long standing membership in the Special Olympics and the High Rollers bowling league. He will be missed greatly by all of those who have had the pleasure to have known him. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 23, at 12 p.m. in the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Waterford. Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. prior to the service.
