    Theodora S. Jeram

    October 31, 1928 - February 3, 2022

Theodora "Tedi" S. Jeram, age 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 3, 2022. Tedi was born in Plattsburgh, the daughter of William and Dora Strack. A graduate of St. John's Academy and Plattsburgh Teachers College, she earned her master's degree in reading education at SUNY Albany. She taught in both the Bethlehem School District and Albany City Schools. Tedi then began a career at the N.Y.S. Department of Civil Service until her retirement. Tedi was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Francis "Frank" Jeram and by their son, Michael. She is survived by daughter, Pamela (Patrick) Whalen; grandchildren, Kathryn, Daniel, John and Megan Whalen; and two great-grandchildren. Tedi also leaves behind numerous nieces, and nephews; her beloved sister, Terri Kuta; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Jeram and Ann Jeram. The family would like to thank the wonderful and caring staff at the Teresian House. Tedi had spent a great many years with them as they helped her struggle with Alzheimer's disease. When it became apparent that we as a family could no longer see to her needs, they stepped up and helped us to keep her safe, happy and healthy. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 8, at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Place, Delmar. Relatives and friends are invited and may also visit with her family in the chapel gathering area prior to the Mass from 9-10 a.m. Masks are required for all services. Interment will follow the Mass in Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery, Glenmont. Memorial contributions may be made to the Teresian House, 200 Washington Ave. Ext., Albany, NY, 12203.
